I have a dedicated server with Host Gator. I have been approached by other companies offering the server at less money, but I will not change.
The service I have recieved from their support has been fantastic. Originally I was not to sure about support tickets, but everytime I send one they get back to me right away.
I recently had a major e-mail problem. One of the admins Josh Lo took on the task and did not let up until the problem was resolved. Kuddos to him again!!

I transferred around the end of January from ipower to hostgator. I signed up for the Swamp Croc package and the difference has been night and day.
My sites load very quickly... mostly under 1/2 second load times on a very heavily modded phpbb forum/portal. Vanilla phpbb3 board loads nearly instantly. Joomla site is smooth and fast, Wordpress is lightning fast, and storage capacity is seemingly endless.
I had some issues with the domain transfer from ipower (horrible service and support there) and Hostgator support helped me through it quickly.
I had a problem with my email account not being accessible and it was resolved almost instantly when I contacted support.
They offered to transfer my entire site from ipower for me for free but I chose to do the migration myself.
They have given lots of notice on the upgrade to php5 and mysql5 and I've had time to make sure my sites are up-to-date.
I give Hostgator an A+ grade so far. I would steer anyone looking for a quality host to choose Hostgator.
